College Men’s Lacrosse News – Guilford Announces 2017 Team Captains

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Guilford College head men’s lacrosse coach Tom Carmean announced the selection of senior David Felipe (Miami, Fla./Miami Killian) and junior Will Forrestal (Holly Springs, N.C./Holly Springs) as the Quakers’ team captains for the 2017 campaign. The captains were selected by Guilford’s coaching staff at the conclusion of the team’s fall campaign.

Felipe, a 5-9, 180-pound long-stick midfielder, started all 17 games in the 2016 season. He totaled 28 ground balls and caused 10 turnovers in addition to scoring a goal for the Quakers. The exercise & sports sciences and health sciences double major enters the 2017 season with career totals of 18 career starts, three goals and 48 ground balls in 38 games. He is a six-time dean’s list student and a two-time Academic All-ODAC selection.

Will Forrestal Guilford 2018

Forrestal, a 6-2, 205-pound long-stick midfielder/defenseman, is coming off a season in which he scored three goals, secured 24 ground balls and caused 12 turnovers for the Quakers. Forrestal has totaled 11 points, 24 ground balls, and 16 caused turnovers in his 32 career appearances. He is a dean’s list criminal justice major with a minor in English. Forrestal is president of Guilford’s Pre-law Club and is a two-time Guilford Student-Athlete Honor Roll Selection.

Carmean’s Quakers are coming off an 8-9 season that included the team’s second ODAC Tournament appearance. Guilford opens the 2017 season February 18 at home against the University of the South.
