The Bishop McGuinness Villains boys basketball season came to an end in the NC-1A sectional finals in what was a valiant effort against a solid Avery County Vikings squad. The Villains over came a tough first quarter to get it within five at the half behind a 13 point first half from Johnny Pagano. The Vikings had a big start to the 3rd quarter but Bishop’s CJ Cappuccio had a 13 point quarter to breathe life back into the team. The Villains got the game to 2 points with 3 minutes left to play but didn’t have things go there way to end the game. Bishop finishes the season at 16-12 and returns 9 players and 4 starters in 2017-18.
