College Women’s Soccer News – Shenigo Resigns Guilford Post For NCAA Division I Job

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Michael Shenigo resigned his position as Guilford College’s head women’s soccer coach to take an assistant coaching position at Division I University of Delaware. Shenigo will coach goalkeepers and work alongside former North Carolina State University head coach Mike Barroquiero, who took over the Blue Hens’ program in January.

Shenigo led Guilford to a 16-53-3 record in four seasons as the Quakers’ head coach. He arrived in 2013 and overhauled the team’s roster in his four seasons. Guilford registered a 7-10-1 record in 2015, the program’s best season since 2011. The Quakers went 6-9-1 last fall and returned to the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Tournament for the first time since 2011.

Guilford assistant women’s soccer coach Anna Smither will oversee team activities and recruiting, while a new head coach is identified.
