Long, a 6-4, 210-pound forward, enjoyed a breakout season in his second year with the program. He was named to the First Team All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) squad and earned Most Outstanding Player honors at the ODAC Tournament. Long scored a club-best 14.2 points per game, ninth-best in the league. He also averaged 5.0 rebounds and a team-high 2.2 three-pointers per contest. He scored in double figures 23 times, including five 20-point games and a pair of 30-point outings. His career-high 32 points on 15-for-20 shooting led the Quakers over conference-rival Eastern Mennonite University, 94-88, November 30. Long’s three-pointer with 1.1 seconds left in regulation lifted Guilford to a road victory over ODAC-foe Washington and Lee University, 68-66. He had 12 points and a career-high 12 rebounds in a February 1 win over Randolph College for his first college double-double.

Coach Tom Palombo’s Quakers finished 24-6 overall and 13-3 in the conference and are ranked 23rd in the latest D3hoops.com Top 25 Poll. After winning the league’s regular-season crown and the ODAC Tournament title, Guilford advanced to the NCAA Division III playoffs. The Quakers won their first-round game, 74-54, over Thomas More College, before being knocked out in the second round by seventh-ranked Marietta University. Palombo expects as many as 14 letter winners back next fall, including Long.
