Randy Norris(Dudley HS) finding his stride this baseball season with the Winston-Salem State Rams:Norris named CIAA Offensive Player of the Week

Winston-Salem State University’s Randy Norris(Dudley High School), was chosen as the CIAA Offensive Player of the Week. Norris had another solid week for the Rams, hitting .500 and driving in eight runs. He also collected two doubles and a grand slam home run. He also scored seven runs for WSSU.

Randy Norris, from Dudley High School, is really getting it done this season for the Winston-Salem State Rams…WSSU Rams(20-12/10-0) will face the Winston-Salem State Rams Monday at 5:30pm, at BB&T Ballpark, in Winston-Salem….

from John Dell with the Winston-Salem Journal at www.journalnow.com…..

Randy Norris is in a serious groove for Winston-Salem State.

The baseball to him looks like a 12-inch softball, and his swing is feeling the best that it has since he arrived from Dudley High School. And like most baseball players he doesn’t want to overanalyze why he’s been so successful.

“I’m locked in,” Norris said about his team-best .354 batting average with 22 stolen bases.

What makes Norris, a sophomore from High Point, so dangerous for the first-place Rams is his versatility. He can play second base, center field and first base, and coach Kevin Ritsche hasn’t been shy about moving Norris around.

  1. Awesome! Great kid and dad!

Carter Williams MEAC player of week! Batting over 400 for year as is Myles Sowellat A &T at 429

Caleb Webster is 2nd in NCAA with 455 BA. Webster leads NCAA as the toughest to strike out!

  2. D.J. Artis(Southeast Guilford HS) leading Liberty U. batting .341 with 3 HR’s, including a Grand Slam and he has 18 RBi and is 9 of 11 in Stolen Bases and I have seen some of his plays defensively in CF and that kid can play…

Cesar Trejo(Ragsdale HS) has been having a good year for UNCG…Trejo batting .301 with 6 HR and 32 RBI…

Probably some more kids/young men out there too, that we might be missing….
