Carter Williams(Northeast Guilford HS) MEAC Player of the Week, Camden Williamson(Dudley HS) Rookie of the Week and Devin Sweet(Southeast Guilford HS) Top Performer

North Carolina Central freshman Carter Williams(Northeast Guilford HigH School) was selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Baseball Player of the Week, the conference office announced today. North Carolina A&T State’s Camden Williamson(Dudley High School) earned Rookie of the Week honors, while Maryland Eastern Shore sophomore Zach Mills was named Pitcher of the Week.

Williams (6-3, 190, Fr., Brown Summit, N.C.) hit .480 (12-for-25) for the week, including five doubles, racking up four RBIs and scoring four times. He had three three-hit games during the week – against Longwood, High Point and Florida A&M – and he went 3-for-5 with three RBIs in the second game of Saturday’s doubleheader against the Rattlers. He reached base in all five games, and he stole a base against High Point. In the field, Williams went without an error in 31 putouts.

Williamson (5-8, 180, Fr., Greensboro, N.C.) hit .400 (6-for-15) for the week, driving in three runs and scoring four times. In the Aggies’ three-game sweep of Savannah State over the weekend, he was a combined 5-for-12 at the plate, including a pair of two-hit games, and he hit a home run in the series opener on Saturday. He also had a stolen base and went errorless in four games.

Mills (5-9, 175, So., Parksley, Va.) pitched seven shutout innings against Delaware State, giving up just two hits and striking out 11 – including five of the game’s first six batters. His performance on the mound helped the Hawks snap a 10-game losing streak, and it kicked off a doubleheader sweep of the Hornets. Mills also pitched a scoreless inning of relief earlier in the week at Mount St. Mary’s (Md.).

Tyler Krull (B-CU) struck out 10 batters in a combined 9.0 innings of work against North Florida and Liberty.
Anthony Maldonado (B-CU) gave up just one earned run in 7.0 innings against Liberty, scattering two hits and striking out seven.
Allen Saar (CSU) went 2-for-4 with an RBI and his first stolen base against Towson.
Dylan Carlson (FAMU) struck out five in 6.0 innings, scattering two hits against Alabama State.
Aubrey McCarty (FAMU) went 5-for-5 with two home runs and seven RBIs in the series finale against North Carolina Central.
Ryan Rotondo (MDES) hit .412 (7-for-17) for the week and had a pair of two-hit games.
Kaeson Wilson (NCAT) struck out a career-high eight in 6.0 innings against Savannah State.
Jake Raby (NCCU) had a combined four RBIs in a three-game set against Florida A&M, including a three-RBI performance in the first game of the series.
Devin Sweet (NCCU)/(Southeast Guilford High School) scattered three hits in six innings against Florida A&M, striking out five.
Chase Anderson (NSU) struck out eight in 4.1 innings of relief against Coppin State.
Brian Beard (NSU) had a pair of three-hit games – one against William & Mary and another against Coppin State – driving in seven runs for the week.
