GREENVILLE, N.C. – The High Point University men’s golf team rounded out another top 10 finish at the East Carolina Intercollegiate on Tuesday at the Brook Valley Course.

Freshman Brendan MacDougall recorded six birdies on the day and finished the round with a +3 (75). Overall, the Calgary, Alberta native finished the tournament in a tie for 25th in the field (75, 79, 75; +13).

“It wasn’t the special day that we were hoping for today and all of our guys left with a dissatisfied taste in their mouths,” head coach Brady Gregor said. “As Davis Kiger put it ‘our dogs just weren’t hunting out there today.’ We have three weeks to get ready for conference and we are looking at adding one head-to-head match to make sure we are peaking at the right time.”

Behind MacDougall, freshman Alec Weary tallied a final-round 77 (+5) to finish 44th in the event. Meanwhile, HPU’s third freshman, RJ Bartolomucci, tied for 46th despite posting the best round of the tournament for the Panthers’ on Monday.

Wrapping up the High Point output, sophomore Davis Kiger and junior Emile Menard placed in a tie for 49th and 60th, respectively.

The Panthers have completed their regular season slate, but could add another event prior to the 2017 Big South Championship held in Ninety Six, S.C. on April 21-23.
