AUBURN, Ala. – Skylar Barthelmes and Bryanna Hames set a new personal records and the Elon University women’s track and field team completed day one of the Tiger Track Classic hosted by Auburn University on Friday, April 7, at Hutsell-Rosen Track.
Barthelmes set a new personal record in the javelin and placed third overall at the meet. Her new personal best of 136’1″ (41.49m) also ranks second on the program’s all-time performance list.
Hames also recorded a new career-best tossing the hammer 156’11” (47.82m) and placing 17th. Her toss places her fifth on the program’s all-time performance list for the hammer throw.
In addition, Carrie Abraham just missed her personal best in the triple jump earning a mark of 40’2.25″ (12.25m) and placing fourth overall.
Also highlighting day one was Briana O’Grady, who nearly matched her career-best in the hammer throw tossing a 163’1″ (49.70m) and placing 13th.
The Phoenix closes out the meet tomorrow with events beginning at 11 a.m.
