UPDATE: Otis Nixon has been located and is safe. We appreciate the assistance from the public and media.
He played for the Greensboro Hornets and he is one of the fastest players to ever come through this town….He and his brother Donnell were outstanding high school baseball players, coming out of Lumberton, North Carolina….Otis Nixon made what might be the greatest catch in Atlanta Braves history, while playing in center field for the Braves…He was teammates with Don Mattingly, Matt Winters, Greg Gagne and a host of other stars when he played here in Greensboro…..And now Otis Nixon is missing and has been missing/gone since Saturday….
Police in an Atlanta suburb are asking for help to find former Atlanta Braves outfielder Otis Nixon.
The 58-year-old was last seen leaving his home in Woodstock, Ga. on Saturday morning to play golf in his 2011 gray Range Rover and hasn’t been heard from since.

Woodstock police detectives were pursuing leads and tips Monday morning in the search for former Atlanta Braves outfielder Otis Nixon.
Nixon, 58, was reported missing by his girlfriend after he did not show up for a Saturday morning tee time at a local golf course. Foul play is not suspected in the disappearance.
Nixon was last seen leaving his home at 10 a.m. Saturday in a gray 2011 Range Rover with Georgia tag CFP-9010. He was wearing a black long sleeve-shirt, black sweatpants and a black baseball cap, with black Adidas shoes with white stripes.
Woodstock police early Monday renewed calls for help in finding Nixon.

Nixon first came to the Atlanta Braves in a trade with Montreal only days before spring training ended in 1991 — at age 32 — and helped spark the team’s worst-to-first season. He stole a franchise record 72 bases that season, but was suspended for 60 days after failing a drug test. He missed the team’s trip to the World Series.
He entered Braves lore with game-saving heroics, known forever as “The Catch.” in a 1992 game against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
