HiToms Win 8-4 vs Spinners

The HiToms started todays game right where they left off from yesterday. In the first inning, Riley Isenhour started the game for the HiToms on the mound. He went a strong 3 innings retiring 10 of the 13 batters he faced.

Randy Norris showed his speed on a leadoff bunt single and two stolen bases. Kole McKinnon walked and Mason McLellan drove them both in with a 2 RBI double.

In the 3rd inning, Mason and Kip Brandenburg earned back to back walks with 2 outs and Ryne Stanley drove in the pair with a single to make it 4-0.

The Spinners got an unearned run in the top of the 4th via an error from Stanley which lead to a double from Jack Brunetti that drove in Mark Miller.

In the 5th, Mike McHugh hit a solo shot to deep to left center field to cut the HiTom lead to just 2.

Chase Martin threw the 4th inning and gave up that unearned run. Matt Stanley threw a perfect 5th and 6th outside of the home run to McHugh.

The 7th inning started off not with a bang, but two! Mason McLellan and Kip Brandenburg hit back to back shots then Ryne Stanley walked, stole a base and then came around to score on an error to make it 7-2.

Clay Young pitched the 7th and 8th inning and gave up 2 in the 8th off of back to back doubles and a few sac flys which made it 7-4.

Jordan Howard joined the home run parade and hit his 3rd in two days to widen the gap to 4 and made it 8-4.

Jake Wyrick came in to shut the door in the 9th retiring the first batter on one pitch as Zach McGinnis flew out to CF. After back to back walks, Wyrick struck out the final two batters to end it. HiToms win by a final score of 8-4!

The HiToms are back at Finch Field tomorrow for a Memorial Day matchup against the Carolina Pirates at 3pm! See you then!
