HPU’s LeClair earns USILA Scholar All-American MLAX honors

HIGH POINT, N.C. – High Point University men’s lacrosse senior Michael LeClair has been named to the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Scholar All-American Team, the organization announced on Wednesday.

“We are so very proud of Mike for accomplishing this honor,” head coach Jon Torpey said. “Mike has been one of the most relentless competitors both on and off the field in his time here at High Point University and this is a tremendous way to finish off his career.”

LeClair, who also was selected as a Senior CLASS First Team All-American this spring, led the Panthers in scoring (31) and goals (18) while placing second on the squad in assists with 13.

Similarly, in the classroom the Elkridge, Md. native posted a 3.4 GPA and graduated in May with a degree in Accounting.

LeClair is the High Point’s fourth student-athlete to earn USILA Academic All-American accolades. Last year, Dan Lomas and Tyler Cook garnered the honor while two years ago Pat Farrell became the first Panther to achieve the recognition.
