The HiToms came into this game tonight on a two game losing streak after a road trip to Savannah and Florence.

Rhys Dee made his HiTom debut and pitched nearly perfect in his start. He only gave up 1 walk in 2 innings.

The HiToms looked good early on once again as they put up a three spot in the first. Howard doubled, McClellan reached on an error, and then McKinnon hit a 2 RBI double to bring in both. Jason Allbery brought in his first RBI of the season to make it 3-0.

The Mustangs hit a solo shot off of Clay Young in the 4th. Outside of that his night was perfect in his 3 innings of work.

In the 6th Robby Casey made his HiTom debut. He gave up a leadoff double. After a fly out to right, a groundout from Davis Simms brought in a run to make it 3-2.

Following the at bat, Zach Michalski hit a solo shot of his own to tie the ballgame.

Nick Silber pitched a 1-2-3 inning in the 7th, and in the 8th Jake Wyrick struck out two, and then gave up back to back hits to give the Mustangs the 4-3 lead but struck out the final batter of the inning.

The HiToms had 3 walks to start the home half of the 8th, and after a force out at the plate, a double play from the 2nd basemen Josh Smith ended the HiTom threat.

Wyrick came back out for the top of the 9th and dialed in. He struck out the side in both the 8th and the 9th.

The HiToms went down 1-2-3 in the 9th inning and move to 3-4 in league play.

Martinsville moves to 4-3. Mike Stevens (1-0) earned the win and Jake Wyrick (0-1) got the loss.

The HiToms have a home and home series with Asheboro starting tomorrow at 7pm in Asheboro tomorrow and back at Finch Field Saturday at 6pm.
