Kernersville Bulldogs Baseball Update:’Dogs now (16-2), with Garvey, Lipke, Hardin, Caveness, Wilkinson, Fischvogt and Routh among the Top local ‘Dogs

The weekly update of Kernersville Bulldogs Carolina Virginia Collegiate league action.

Kernersville pushed their record to 16-2 on the summer after sweeping four weekend home games against division foes.

On Saturday Andrew Blake made his first start of the season a winning one in a 4-1 win. Blake allowed only four hits and fanned four to record the win. Michael Garvey(GTCC)with a 2-4 and 3 rbi day along with Colin Lipke(GTCC) 2-3 day paced the offense.

In Game two Kernersville used Seth Hardin, Will Hicks and Jake Mayhew to hold the Carolina Pirates in check in a 8-5 win. Jackson Meadows bases loaded double put the Bulldogs ahead for good in the fifth. Will Hicks picked up his second win of the year. Ryan Caveness with a triple and three rbis, and Dylan Wilkinson and Colin Lipke with 2-4 nights join Meadows as hitting stars.

On Sunday Kernersville used the great pitching of Catawba lefty Bryan Ketchie (five hits, fanned six) in picking up the win and Jake Mayhew fanned the side to pick up the save in a 4-2 defeat of the North Wake Fungo. Jeff Somuk and Jordan Huntley with 2-3 days and Jacob Whitley with a 1-3 with an rbi paced the offense.

In game two Tanner Routh(GTCC) picked up his fourth win of the year as he and Joseph Peeler combined to limit the Fungo to three hits in a 3-1 win. Again a key bases loaded 2rbi double by Jackson Meadows was the key blow offensively.

Kernersville shut out the Deep River Muddogs 3-0 and 7-0 on Thursday night also in league play. As Braxton Shetley hurled a gem in picking up his second win of the year allowing three hits and fanning 8 in six innings of work in the 7-0 win. Nick Borgen and Will Hicks combined for the 3-0 shutout. Dylan Wilkinson, Timmy Fischvogt, Tyler Price and Michael Garvey paced the Bulldog on offense.
