HiToms Lose 6-0 to Copperheads

The HiToms came into Asheboro to face the Copperheads for the 7th time this season. Coming into the ball game, the HiToms were 6-0 vs Asheboro so far, and tonight it officially came to an end.

Erin Baldwin started for the HiToms making it his first start after relieving in 6 games for the HiToms in the 2017 season.

In the 3rd inning, Baldwin ran into a bit of trouble. He surrendered 3 singles to start the inning. Then after an error and wild pitch, a sac fly and single scored two, and the Copperheads took the 3-0 lead after 3.

Waylon Richardson pitched the 5th and 6th and threw well. He gave up just two hits and two walks in two innings pitched while giving up no runs.

Riley Isenhour pitched a perfect 7th, and Chase Martin came in for the 8th. He gave up 3 runs on 4 hits and the Copperheads took the 6-0 lead into the 9th inning.

The HiToms could not fight back in the 9th, and in fact only had two hits all game. One off the bat of Cody Grosse in the 3rd and one off the bat of Callahan Moltzan in the 6th.

Baldwin earned the L (2-1) and Devin Sweet (1-1) earned the W.
