HPU MBB Adds Cameron to 2017-18 Recruiting Class

HIGH POINT, N.C. — High Point University men’s basketball head coach Scott Cherry has announced that Tim Cameron will transfer to HPU and join the Panthers this fall.

Cameron will have three years of eligibility remaining after sitting out the upcoming 2017-18 season due to NCAA transfer guidelines. The 6-4 guard played his freshman season at UTEP. Cameron played eight games for the Miners, who finished 2016-17 with a 15-17 overall record and a 12-6 mark in Conference USA play.

“We are really excited to add Tim and his family to our basketball program,” Cherry said. “His talent, work ethic, leadership ability and character fit the identity of our team. He was someone we recruited out of high school and we are thrilled he is joining us the second time around. It speaks volumes about High Point University and our winning culture to get someone of Tim’s caliber.”

The 2015 Under Armour Elite 80 All-American attended Hargrave Military Academy in Chatham, Va., as a post-graduate following a prep career at Norcross High School in Norcross, Ga. He was an Atlanta Tip-Off Club All-Metro Team member and was selected all-region and all-county by the Gwinnett Daily Post.
