Kernersville Bulldogs Weekend Report/Update:Lipke(Ragsdale/GTCC), Kernen(Northwest Guilford/GTCC) and Routh(Randleman/GTCC) among the locals going ‘Dog-wild, over the weekend

Kernersville split league games on the road in Roanoke Virginia winning the first game 4-0 the losing a 3-2 extra inning affair in game two.

In Game one Tanner Routh and Will Hicks of GTCC shut out the Rails on three hits as their dominating fastballs kept the Rails off the board. Colin Lipke anchored the offense with a monster two-run blast in the first inning.

In Game two again excellent pitching went to waste as the Bulldogs left the bases loaded in five of the nine innings without scoring. Andrew Blake and Chris Kernen again pounded the zone with live fastballs, but a couple of errors allowed the tying runs to score for Roanoke, as they squeezed in the winning run in the bottom of the ninth.

On Sunday another extra-inning affair would occur and this time Colin Lipke got the game winning RBI home in the ninth. Jake Mayhew hurled four scoreless innings of relief to pick up the win. Mayhew(UNCG) allowed two hits and struck out five to get the win. Tyler Price(GTCC)1-2 and rbi, Nick Wilson with a double and rbi and Jordan Huntley with 2-4 day paced Kernersville.

In game two a 5-3 decision came out big for Kernersville as Jason Jenkins(NCA&T), Joseph Peeler and Nick Borgen combined to get the job done on the mound fanning 11 with Borgen( Catawba) getting the win. Tyler Price 2-3, a run and rbi, JT Snow 2-2 including a double, and Noah Campbell 2-3, with 2 runs scored and a Rbi paced the 9 hit attack.
