Some hunt/pursue rabbits, squirrel, birds, etc., but this man snared/grabbed rebounds and pulled in 51 in one game:History-maker has left us(Bill Chambers)

When I think of Bill Chambers Jr., I think of the greats like Bill Russell….Bill Chambers Jr. once grabbed an NCAA-record 51 rebounds in one game and the record still stands today…He played high school hoops at E.C. Glass High School in Lynchburg, Virginia, played college basketball at William and Mary and then later coached on the high school and college levels…He got a job with the Converse Rubber and began to sell those Chuck Taylor Converse All-Stars Basketball shoes, back when the Chuck Taylors were “the basketball shoe”, and he later did very well working for Russell Athletics…Might be the best rebounder in college basketball history and did pretty good in child upbringing, having brought Bill Chambers III to Greensboro and later Bill Chambers attended the University of North Carolina on a basketball scholarship, he played professionally in Europe and coached at Dudley HS, at Greensboro College, at N.C. Wesleyan, at Kernodle Middle School and now Bill Chambers III is the head boys basketball coach at Northern Guilford High School…

Bill Chambers Jr. was a rebounding-machine and he and Bill Russell, had that trait in common…Not a common man, but a “Rebounding Machine”, today we remember Bill Chambers Jr., who passed away this week, down in Alabama…..
