Congratulations to James Artis. The honor was well deserved. We will miss him this season. I look forward to seeing him and Kyin Howard playing for the Aggies at A&T State University.
Great night for James Artis and for the Eastern Guilford High School football program….Hope all is well for Spencer Clapp as heads off towards Wake Forest this Fall…Same for Howard and Artis as they hit N.C. A&T….
Anyone heard who picked up Ronald Polite from Page and how about the job turned in last night by Tyler DeBerry from Page along with the great work by Nigel Peele from Dudley HS….When you add in Chavis Little from High Point Central, all of the Guilford County kids were major contributors in last night’s East-West All-Stars game at Grimsley High School….
Be sure to check out Wyatt Smith’s report on the game here at our site and look up and check out Joe Sirera’s work over at the News and Record site….Good night for Guilford County at the football All-Stars Game, but a real tough week for the West in All-Stars action….
West goes (0-2) in Basketball and gets a tie and a win in Soccer and falls in Football…
East on the week goes (3-1-1) and West goes out at (1-3-1)….
In the past this was a very BIG deal…The outcome of the week-long series was well documented back in the day, and if you were from the West, you didn’t look at, or think about the East….Anything down past Burlington and headed East into Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill was enemy territory and you did not give them a second chance when it came to getting on that scoreboard….
When it came to the East and if you were from the West, you would say and be thinking, “Die Suckers”….You had to approach it that way, because it was all about the WEST if you from the WEST…..The WEST was the best and the East was the least….
Those were great times/days and these days it is all about being politically correct and be careful not to cheer or pull too hard from your brothers from the WEST in public….
Brothers and sisters from the WEST who played in the All-Stars Games, thanks for your time and we hope you enjoyed your week and that you had a good time at and during the All-Stars Games for the Summer of ’17……
