Elon Women’s Track and Field Earns Academic Team Honors From USTFCCCA

NEW ORLEANS – The Elon University women’s track and field team was honored by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) as an All-Academic Team as released by the association on Thursday, July 27.

This is the 10th time in the past 11 years that the Phoenix under Director of Track and Field and Cross Country Mark Elliston has received All-Academic Team accolades from the USTFCCCA. Prior to its recent announcement, the maroon and gold had received All-Academic Team honors for nine straight years (2007-15).

“This is an incredible accomplishment for our team and the hard work that they put in the classroom,” said Elliston. “This group epitomizes what it means to be a true student-athlete and I’m happy that their dedication to academics is shown in this accomplishment.”

As a team, Elon posted a 3.24 team cumulative GPA and was among 218 programs overall to receive recognition. The Phoenix had the second-highest GPA among schools from the Colonial Athletic Association with Elon being edged out by William & Mary, who had a 3.43 overall GPA.
