T. Wingate Andrews High School names Kelly Clark Interim Head Football Coach(Official Release)

T. Wingate Andrews High School principal Marcus D. Gause, has named Kelly Clark Interim Head Coach for the 2017 football season. This placement makes Clark the 10th football coach in the school’s forty-nine year history.

Clark is a native of Raleigh, North Carolina and played quarterback at Winston-Salem State University from 1990 to 1993. After his playing career, he finished his degree at Ashford University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management and a Master’s in Business Education. He currently serves as a teacher in the Career and Technical Education Department at T. Wingate Andrews High School.

Kelly’s coaching career began as an assistant and later JV Head coach in 2002 at Southwest Guilford High School. In 2008, he began his coaching at T. Wingate Andrews where he served as quarterback coach, JV head coach, and offensive coordinator. Since joining the Red Raiders football coaching staff, Clark has been a part of seven conference titles, one state title, and helped prepare his players for the collegiate level.

Athletic Director Derek Anderson said, “Coach Clark’s relationship with the players & enthusiasm that he provides to the student-athletes in our program, is one of his strongest assets.
