GREENSBORO, N.C. – Greensboro College has appointed Randy Tuggle as its head women’s golf coach, Director of Athletics Bryan Galuski announced Wednesday.

“I am excited for Coach Tuggle and very confident he will do an outstanding job leading our women’s golf program,” Galuski said. “Coach Tuggle is certainly no stranger to success and his coaching experience will have a direct impact on his student-athletes.”

Tuggle, who also serves as the Assistant Director of Athletics and head women’s basketball coach, has been a member of the Pride family since 2001.

Tuggle served as an assistant coach for the Pride women’s basketball team for seven seasons before becoming head coach in 2009. He has led the Pride to a 144-70 overall record since, including three USA South Athletic Conference regular-season championships, two USA South tournament championships and two NCAA postseason berths.

Additionally, Tuggle has coached and mentored two Conference Player of the Year winners and one All-American, while winning Coach of the Year honors in 2011.

“I am very excited to be the women’s golf coach,” Tuggle said. “The program has made great strides the last couple of years, and my goal is to keep the program moving forward.

“We have a great example in the men’s program, and my goal is to become a program that will compete at the highest level each year.”

Tuggle becomes just the second head coach in the program’s young history. The women’s golf team began competition in 2009-2010 and recorded its first tournament victory in 2015.
