Tuesday afternoon Ric Flair Update from WresltlingInc.com/www.wrestlinginc.com:

WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair remains in critical condition at an Atlanta hospital, according to F4Wonline.com. We now know that Flair underwent colon surgery on Monday to remove a blockage that was the catalyst for a number of health issues that followed, including kidney failure. The blockage was said to be the worst of the issues but the blockage did cause other problems.

Flair is currently on kidney dialysis and doctors are looking to get his kidneys back functioning. The surgery was considered a success but there are more issues to deal with.

“[Ric Flair] was in a lot of pain and he was taken in on Saturday morning to the hospital,” Dave Meltzer explained. “He was put in a medically induced coma, his situation was real bad and he had colon surgery this morning(Monday) and he got through the surgery. He’s not out of the water yet — I believe he’s on kidney dialysis now.”

Ric Flair had successful surgery today and it was not heart related. Flair’s manager, Melinda Morris Zanoni of Legacy Talent and Entertainment, tweeted the following:

WWE Hall of Famer “Mean” Gene Okerlund indicated on Facebook that Flair was having “colon surgery.” He wrote the following:

I’ve heard nothing on the outcome of Ric Flairs colon surgery this afternoon but the outpouring of prayers and love re-enforce that he definitely is “THE MAN”.

**********Flair suffers from Alcoholic cardiomyopathy. The condition is a result of prolonged alcohol abuse and can result in heart failure. The effects of the alcohol damage the myocardium where it is unable to efficiently pump blood.**********

Head WWE producer Michael Hayes visited Flair on Sunday prior to flying to Boston for RAW and tweeted, “I saw @RicFlairNatrBoy before I flew to Boston yesterday I can assure that he needs everyone’s prayers and positive vibes. Thx in advance!!”

Flair, 68, is a resident of Charlotte, N.C.

The Charlotte Observer reported that Flair had a previous health scare in December 1998, “when he slumped in the corner of a wrestling ring prior to a World Championship Wrestling event in Tampa,” but it turned out “the numbness in his left arm and chest spasms were not due to a heart attack.”

Flair was in Florida on July 28 to throw out the first pitch at Marlins Park in Miami before a baseball game there as part of a “wrestling night” promotion.
