*****Varsity Football Games coming up this Friday Night in and around Guilford County…..*****
7:30pm Kickoffs due up……

Page(2-0) at Dudley(2-0)….No longer a conference game, but still one of the best games in the state for this upcoming Friday night, September 1…
Northwest Guilford(2-0) at Southeast Guilford(2-0)…SEG upset NWG at NWG last season and can the Falcons pull off the takeaway two years in a-row and would it be an upset?????
Eastern Guilford(2-0) at Grimsley(1-1)….EG Wildcats facing some serious waters with Grimsley this week and then the Page Pirates in Gibsonville, the following week….EG will be favored this week at Grimsley and the Wildcats are out for respect and Grimsley is out to put a big ‘W’ back in the word Whirlies…
High Point Central(2-0) at Southwest Guilford(2-0)….SWG will have QB Jaren Rainey and the other two missing starters back and SWG will be out to stake their claim on the High Point City Championship….Having beaten HP Andrews last week, and if SWG takes down HP Central this week, the Cowboys are the 2017 Champs, but then again if HP Central wins this one and then goes on to be Andrews, the news will take on a different headline….
Western Guilford(0-2) at Ragsdale(1-1)….WG has been without a head coach due to illness and Ragsdale is still smarting from that loss to Dudley, but Ragsdale should be ready to make this a Tale of the Tigers, on Friday night….WG is putting up points, but they can not stop the opposition….
Northeast Guilford(0-1) at Southern Guilford(0-2)…..NEG has lost DE/TE Brevin Allen for the season and he is due to have surgery on September 6…Not the kind of news the Rams were looking for, but this will make for a big game here, with NEG coach Earl Bates, having been the head coach at SG just season ago and coming back to face the players/young men he once led to battle….
High Point Andrews(0-2) at Smith(0-2)…..Smith has not been playing all that bad and their defense has been doing a good job…Got to get their offense rolling vs. Andrews….
Statesville(2-0) at Northern Guilford(1-1)….Former NEG head coach Jason Lippard is at Statesville, working with the offense, and it has been an impressive start for the Statesville Greyhounds…They defeated Hickory in OT in Week One, 27-26 and then knocked off Lake Norman in Week Two, 23-21….Battle for Nighthawks hosting Greyhounds this Friday night and NG is going to have to get their running game going…Passing game for NG is on target, but running game is running behind….
Harrells Christian(2-0) at High Point Christian(2-0)
Bishop McGuinness(0-2) at Allegheny(2-0)

I don’t see Falcon D giving up a lot of pts to NW, but the Southeast offense better figure some things out quickly or no upset in sight.

  • Andy Durham said,

Charlie Pannell said in pre-season that Southeast Guilford was a team to watch and this Friday might be their time to show us….

  • Mike D said,

If we can keep the score close with a chance to win at the end of the game we have a shot.

Pulling out the victory last year was a season highlight for those seniors who have moved on.

  • NWGHS Fan said,

NW has a lot of options offfensively with Johnny Pagano, Cameron Cloud, Caleb Andrews, Jacob Hardy, and of course Tre Turner, it’s going to be interesting to see how Southeast will shut down this high powered offensive attack. Also, don’t sleep on the NW defense. They will wake you up quickly.

  • Mike D said,

I did say if we keep it close. However, you guys had it clicking last week for sure, but not impressive at all against Smith. I know it was the first game and all.

  • Southeast Guilford has Talent said,

From what I can tell each team should try to make a statement in this game. If they really want to show that they have something this year this game is where it really starts. That is just MHO.
