Men’s Soccer Dominates Regent For First Victory of 2017

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Six players recorded two goals each as the Greensboro College men’s soccer team earned their first victory of 2017 Saturday against Regent University, 16-0.

Greensboro (1-1) wasted no time getting the scoring started as Carlos Barragan scored his first goal of the afternoon in just the second minute off an assist from Gerardo Peraza.

Seven minutes later, Jared Heller recorded his first goal of the season to extend the lead to 2-0 before Greensboro tallied four goals over the next seven minutes to take a 6-0 lead. Darli Mihindou notched two of the goals, while Peraza and Barragan each struck for one goal.

The Pride then extended their lead to 11-0 at halftime before scoring their final five goals over the final 45 minutes of the contest.

Jordy Briceno, Samuel Linker, Alexander Bishop and Torian Bullock combined for eight of the final 10 goals, while Camden Brooks and Kyle Fisher combined for the final two goals.

Greensboro College out shot Regent 34-0 in the game and Caelan Kohut recorded his first shutout victory of the season.
