College Women’s Soccer Final – Guilford 4, John Wesley 0

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Four different Quakers scored in Guilford College’s 4-0 women’s soccer victory over John Wesley University Monday night at Simeon Stadium.

Guilford (2-0) tallied twice in both halves to clinch their second win in as many days. The Quakers controlled play for most of the match and enjoyed a 31-4 edge in shots. The Lions (1-1) did not get a shot on goal.

Dana Waskiewicz’s header off a Morgan Wolfe corner kick in the 17th minute opened the game’s scoring. Despite a series of substitutions, Guilford kept the pressure on and it paid off when sub Cheyenne Wright followed a rebound of her own shot to double the Quakers’ lead.

Senior Morgan Henderson (Greensboro, N.C./Southeast Guilford) added to the lead 23 minutes into the second half when she took a long cross from Lauren Culler (Jamestown, N.C./Ragsdale) and drove it to the top corner of the far post. Kelsey Reilly capped the scoring with a well-placed goal from Lizzy Barnes in the 83rd minutes.

Goalie Kaitlyn Hunt made five saves in goal for John Wesley.
