College Women’s Soccer Final – Guilford 6, William Peace 0

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Six different Quakers scored in Guilford College’s 6-0 women’s soccer win over William Peace University Sunday at Appenzeller Field in the Armfield Athletic Center. Lauren Culler contributed a goal and an assist off the bench in the first head-coaching win for Guilford’s rookie head coach Stephanie Webb.

Guilford (1-0) enjoyed a 32-0 edge in shots and controlled play throughout. Rookie Corby Brooke got the Quakers on the board with a long blast in the 14th minute and Morgan Wolfe doubled the margin when she bent a corner kick around William Peace’s goaltender in the 18th minute. Ana Fokas banged in a 27-yard tally in the 32nd minute and Lauren Culler one-timed a long, looping Gabriela Silva pass past the keeper for a 4-0 Guilford lead that held at halftime.

Juliana Evans-Anfom dribbled through the Pacers’ defense for a second-half score, which was followed by Kaylee Zabawa’s first career score.

Webb’s Quakers visit John Wesley College Monday (9/4) in a non-conference contest at 6:00 p.m.
