A&T…Hornsby Howell, a former football player, coach and administrator at A&T, died Tuesday in Raleigh. He was 90 years old. Howell was a lineman for the Aggies in the 1950s, and he became the football team’s head coach in 1968. His first team went 8-1 and won a CIAA championship, and his 1975 team won the first of A&T’s eight MEAC titles….Howell was 55-34-4 in nine seasons as A&T’s coach. He went on to be an assistant coach at Georgia.
