GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Greensboro College men’s soccer team used a second half run to top the Lions of Piedmont College Sunday, 2-1.

Piedmont took a one-goal lead in the 23rd minute and held it until the 55th minute when Carlos Barragan placed a penalty kick into the bottom right corner of the goal to tie the match at one.

The two teams then played even for the next 26 minutes until Greensboro got their game-deciding second goal.

Darli Mihindou placed a shot to the bottom left corner of the goal to give the Pride the lead for good off an assist from Scott Wright.

“We are very happy with the win today even though we got off to a lethargic start,” Head Coach Tony Falvino said. “Playing back to back games may have affected us but that is no excuse.

“Following the lighting delay, we responded really well from giving up a cheap goal early and we were able to put away a couple of chances in the second half as we had a lot more opportunities. We have to learn to start games the way you want to finish them.”

The Pride outshot the Lions 14-2 and held a 5-2 advantage in corner kicks. Caelan Kohut recorded one save for his fifth win of the season.

The Greensboro men will return to action at 3 p.m. Friday when they host John Wesley College. For more information on Greensboro College men’s soccer, continue to follow www.greensborocollegesports.com.
