RALEIGH, N.C. – The Greensboro College women’s soccer team defeated the Pacers of William Peace University Thursday, 7-0.

Samantha Lopez got Greensboro on the board first in the 19th minute when she possessed a loose ball inside the 18-yard box and put it past the Pacers keeper.

Greensboro then quickly added to their lead when Angela Niles tallied her sixth goal of the season off an assist from Mercedes Fisher.

The score then remained the same until Madison Karch tallied her seventh goal of the season after collecting a pass from Meredith Priest to make the score 3-0 in the 57th minute.

Just three minutes following Karch’s goal, Niles struck for the second time in the game to extend the Pride advantage even more.

Erika Nash then added another Pride goal in the 74th minute before Johann Stichel and Fisher capped off the scoring to secure the shutout victory.

“It was great to see our players go out there and execute our game plan,” Head Coach Gus Mota said. “We were able to take advantage of our opportunities when we had them.

“We are now in a good position in the USA South standings and we are looking forward to Pfeiffer on Saturday.”

Greensboro held a 23-3 advantage in shots, while also holding a 13-2 shots on goal advantage. Lauren Rodriguez recorded the victory in goal for Greensboro and tallied two saves.
