High School Football Saturday Morning Rewind:Your Look by Links at last night’s games(Like having Link Sausage for Breakfast)

J.P. Mundy taking us back there…..
CLICK HERE for one of the top writers in our area and that would be J.P. Mundy from the News and Record on last night’s Southwest Guilford-Mount Tabor game….Mr. Mundy’s headline from the HSXtra site at the N&R on-line….
Southwest Guilford comes out on the wrong end of wild finish

One of our readers summed this game up very well with their comment on the SWG-MT contest….
Less than 7 seconds remaining MT called a TO for a fg attempt from the 3; second down. SW BLOCKS the kick then a loose ball scramble and MT recovers at the 15.
OT right? Wrong…. Refs say 2.6 sec remain on clock…what!!??
After about 5 min of real-time chaos MT kicks and makes the fg. NO good b/c SW offsides, so dead-ball.
5 min more chaos.
The ball is then moved 5 yards closer and MT makes the last attempt again..game over.

*****If our names and numbers serve us correctly, the kid that kicked the game-winning field(at least a couple of times) is the son of Mount Tabor basketball coach Andy Muse….*****
CLICK HERE for Tom Foreman Jr. at the Winston-Salem Journal on last night’s SWG-Mount Tabor game and it was bizarre…..How Bizarre, How Bizarre….
Aaron Muse field goal to win the game and it was kicked three times and I guess, the third time was the charm….Hate it for our Guilford County kids at SWG, but they will learn from this…

Not sure if anything else can top that from last night/Friday night, be on we go with President Linkin standing by….

CLICK HERE for Dudley over WS Parkland on the Dudley Panthers’ Homecoming with Joe Sirera from the News and Record and HSXtra.com….

CLICK HERE for Tim Nash at the N&R and HSXtra on the Page Pirates pummeling the High Point Central Bison and Paige(Javondre) leading Page with 6 TD passes and four of them going to Cody King….Quite a hookup last night with Paige and King and I am stil trying to remember if Paige was with King, when King was with the Aycock Middle School Lions back in the day….Cody used to line up at wide and I am talking wide, wide receiver for Aycock and I used to tell myself, I said self, there is never no way the QB could throw the ball that far and get it to Cody, but now they are…Lots of former Aycock players will meet on the same field when Page hosts Grimsley next Friday night…Many Aycok, now Swann Middle School players on both the Grimsley and Page teams….Line ’em up….

CLICK HERE for Wyatt Smith at GreensboroSports.com on the Southeast Guilford at Southern Guilford game….Outstanding work by Wyatt and it looks like a tale of two different games…SEG won the first game 34-0 and the SG Storm won the second round/game 21-0 and therefore the final score of 34-21 Southeast…Busy night for SEG QG Ryan Douglas, but he is going to have to get some help on offense if SEG is going to gain ground in the playoffs…..

This is what we have so far and more links should be coming in here soon….Heard Ford Moser from Northern Guilford had 187 yards receiving and three TD receptions last night and that should now give him 996 receiving yards and 11 TD catches on the season/year and he might just be becoming a candidate for Guilford County High School football Player of the Year….

CLICK HERE for David Kehrli’s report on Eastern Guilford vs. Southern Alamance from Friday night and EG’s Dominique Graves, another candidate for Guilford County High School football Player of the Year, threw SIX first half TD passes…. He threw for 240 total yards and rushed for 18 on four carries.
Graves talking to the Burlington Times-News David Kehrli after the game:
“I’m really happy because this is my Senior Night,” Graves said. “I’ve been playing on this team forever so it’s really special.”
?(Southern Alamance) loaded the box,” Graves said. “We kind of expected them to play man coverage most of the game, so when they switched it up and went cover two or a soft cover three we felt like we could throw it underneath or throw it over the top. Everything we had planned worked out.”
“This week we really worked on being able to execute on offense,” Graves said. “Having a shutout defense like we have, we have to be able to score. That was one of our problems last year — our defense was shutting down teams, but our offense struggled to score.”
