Mendenhall(3-2)
Northeast Guilford Middle 34, Kiser Middle 24
Northeast comes up big in the win over Kiser. Strong performance by #2 Trevon Hester with several touchdowns and multiple explosive runs for big gains. Northeast has some 8th graders who will be exciting to watch at the high school next year.
Thoughts and prayers to Kiser QB/DL #4 who had to leave the game early via stretcher for what was heard to be an asthma attack. Hopeful for a quick recovery for that young man, and maybe Coach Addison Edwards can provide us with an update soon….(We are thinking #4 is the big man, Travis Shaw, and we hope Coach Edwards can get us that update.)
NEG(3-2)/Kiser(2-3)
Southern Guilford Middle 24, Penn-Griffin 6
SG(4-1)
SGMS improved to 4-1 and 4-0 in Conference win 24-6 win over Penn Griffin….Trevon McKinnon scored twice on 32 and 1 yard runs, Zayvion Dejesus scored on 70 yard run and Zymir German added two PAT runs.,,,Jamier Ferrere completed SG scoring with a safety….The defense played an outstanding game led by Dejesus, Ferrere, McKinnon, Dakota Locklear, Triston Reagan, DeCory Covington and Tyler Monroe. Dejesus blocked a PG punt and Hector Altamirano forced a fumble….The SG offensive line – Ferrere, James Squires, Zach Terry, Prince Reid and Shaquille Resendiz – were strong allowing SG backs to gain over 200 yards………A complete team effort.
Southeast Guilford Middle 14, Southwest Guilford 8
SEG(4-1)/SWG(2-2)
*****The late game got started late, but it was worth the wait, with that final SEG Fourteen, SWG Eight…..*****
The score was 0-0 in the 5th Quarter Game/Matchup…SEG got a 63-yard run by a back who we think was Clyburn(Jordan Clyburn) and he burned the SWG Cowboy defense for a long TD and the two-point run was good making the score SEG 8, SWG 0, with 7:10 to go in the 1st Q….SEG on the board again, this time on a 43-yard pass to Higdon and the Falcons run their lead up to 14-0, after the two-point run failed and with 2:50 left in the second quarter, the score now reads, SEG 14, SWG 0…..SWG does not give up and the Cowboys hit the end zone on a 22-yard pass play with 31.2 seconds left in the first half and the Cowboys two-point pass fails, we have SEG 14, SWG 8….
The halftime score would read SEG 14, SWG 8 and at the end of the night, the final score also read:
Southeast Guilford Middle School 14, Southwest Guilford Middle School 8….
+++++Their was a big interception by the SEG Falcons’ Steven Davis to help preserve the Falcon Finish…..The pick came with about 1 minute left in the contest and the SWG Cowboys were driving when Steven Davis got the pic….

Northwest Guilford OFF
mwg(2-2)
Swann Middle OFF
Ferndale Middle OFF

  1. Remember the Steven Davis name when he becomes a freshman and goes to play for his dad at you know where.

  2. Jamestown Middle has a talented team. Tigers defeated the Mustangs in a game that showcased future talent for SWG and Ragsdale.

  3. Well said Teddy. Some talent for Page also. Well played game. MMS just made a few too many mistakes. Lots of talent on the field.

  4. Teddy, Just curious why would the JMS team showcase talent for SW. Are there JMS players that are going to go to SW instead of Ragsdale?

  5. Final NE 34 Kiser 24
