Time to take a look back at last night’s game and time to channel up our best President Lincoln persona and let the links begin…

CLICK HERE for Dudley over North Forsyth at the News and Record with Tim Dash up against the dash and Gee Simpson made a slash last night for Dudley with 2 TD runs and one TD pass and it went to Nigel Fitzgerald…Long run by Zyreik Rush to get Dudley running/rolling and the Panthers will make that BIG trip over to Mount Tabor next Friday night….A year ago today October 28, 2016, Dudley made that trip over to Page and fell 23-22 to the Pirates in one of the best overall games this city has ever seen and as we rewind, we can still see Brion Seagraves on that punt return for the Panthers that got the ball down deep into scoring position and Hendon Hooker did his best to get the Panthers into the end zone, but he couldn’t crack that Page stonewall and the rest is history….Last night it was great to see that Alston Hooker scored a late TD on a run for the Panthers and ‘Little Hooker took it in on a 6-yard run….Dudley on to Tabor next Friday night and D.J. Crossen said(to Tim Nash0 Coach Steven Davis would have his young men ready for MT and we are believing Steven….As we do a little more rewinding, Dudley lost that game to Page one year ago, but the Panthers would go on to finish (15-1) and win the NCHSAA 4-A Title….Some feel that earlier loss by Dudley to Southwest Guilford was a wakeup call and that now with the Panthers getting loads of players healthy, the run to the 3-AA Title in 2017 is on….Always fun to do some rewinding, right???

As one of my favorite sayings goes, “Gots to love me some local sports history daddy”……But as many others have said and are now saying in unison, “Why don’t you get back to the Rewind?”, and we will…

From the Charlotte Observer:www.charlotteobserver.com
Marvin Ridge 28, Sun Valley 20: The Mavericks (10-0, 6-0 Southern Carolinas) tied the school record for wins, set in 2011, and set up a conference championship showdown with Charlotte Catholic next week.
? No. 3 Charlotte Catholic beat Cuthbertson 49-10 to improve to 10-0. No team has scored more than 14 points against Catholic all season. The Cougars, a 4A power in recent years, dropped this season into the 3A class, where the competition isn’t as deep. Expect a long playoff run from the Cougars, who reached double-digits wins for the eighth straight season.

In his fourth season, coach Mike Brodowicz has lost two regular-season games — to state powers Mallard Creek and Charlotte Christian. Brodowicz is 52-4 overall.
