ELON, N.C. – For the second week in a row, Elon University women’s basketball jumped up two spots in the CollegeInsider.com Women’s Mid-Major poll on Tuesday, Nov. 21, and now checks in at No. 6.

Green Bay kept the top spot and earned 30 of the 31 first-place votes, but former No. 2 Gonzaga dropped to No. 7. That opened the door for Florida Gulf Coast to jump up to No. 2 with a first-place vote and Northern Colorado to move from No. 6 to No. 3. Drake moved up to No. 4 and South Dakota State rounded out this week’s Top 5 in the fifth spot.

Last week, Elon checked in at No. 8 after starting the season at No. 10. It is one of two CAA teams in the Top 25 with James Madison the other at No. 18.

The Phoenix will return to action for three games in a four-day stretch starting Wednesday, Nov. 22, at UCF. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. in Orlando, Fla. The game will be followed by the Puerto Rico Clasico on Friday, Nov. 24, against Alabama and Friday, Nov. 25, against Iowa in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. Both games are set for 5 p.m. starts.
