HIGH POINT, N.C. — The High Point University men’s basketball team (2-2) travels south to face in-state foe Charlotte Friday night (Nov. 24). Tip-off at the Halton Arena is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Kevin Burke will be back on the call on the High Point Panthers Radio Network on Friday, with pre-game coverage beginning approximately at 6:30 p.m.

PAW PRINTS
• This will be the fourth-ever meeting between the programs, with High Point leading the series, 2-1. The Panthers won the first two contests in the series during the 1969-70 season, while the 49ers were victorious in the most recent meeting, 61-55, Nov. 9, 2007 in Charlotte.
• The Panthers are coming off a 99-63 win over Methodist on Tuesday night (Nov. 21) at the Millis Center. HPU pulled away in the second half, using a 17-0 run after the Monarchs were within seven points. High Point dominated the paint, outscoring Methodist, 60-26, and scored 43 points off of 29 Monarch turnovers.
• Junior Andre Fox scored a career-high 25 points against Methodist and matched his career mark with nine rebounds. Fox was efficient as well, hitting both of his 3-point attempts and was 7-of-8 overall from the field and 9-of-10 from the line. It was the second-consecutive game Fox scored a career high after notching 24 points against The Citadel on Nov. 18. Fox has scored 20 or more points in three of four contests this year.
• Freshman Justyn Mutts made his first career start against Methodist and tallied a season-high 13 points with six rebounds and two blocks. He has 10 blocks through four games to lead the Big South (2.5 blocks per game) and is 37th in the nation.
• Mutts recorded four blocks vs. The Citadel on Nov. 18, the most by a Panther freshman since John Brown swiped four attempts against Appalachian State on Nov. 13, 2012.
• Junior Andre Fox and sophomore Jahaad Proctor have started off the season with hot shooting all around the court. Fox leads the Big South in field goal percentage at 63.4 percent, while Proctor is fifth at 51.0 percent. Fox leads the Big South in 3-point field goal percentage and is seventh in the country at 64.7 percent, while Proctor is third in the conference and 26th in the nation at 57.9 percent. In addition, the two are a combined 32-34from the free throw line (Fox 21-22, Proctor 11-12).
• The Panthers had 17 steals against Methodist, including four by freshman Denny Slay in the second half. High Point ranks first in the Big South conference and sixth in the nation with 11.5 steals per game.

HISTORY vs. CHARLOTTE
This is the fourth meeting between the programs, with High Point leading the series, 2-1. The Panthers won two games during the 1969-70 season, while the 49ers won the most recent meeting, 61-55, Nov. 9, 2007 in Charlotte.

HISTORY vs. CONFERENCE USA OPPONENTS
The Panthers are 1-2 all-time against Conference USA opponents. The Panthers have played at Marshall twice, winning 109-76 in 2009, but falling 79-59, in 2011. High Point played at Central Florida in 2011 and fell, 84-72. The three times High Point has played Charlotte, the 49ers were part of the Dixie Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (NAIA, 1965-70) and the Atlantic 10 (2005-13).

A LOOK AT THE 49ERS (2-2)
Charlotte defeated Presbyterian, 83-74, on Monday night (Nov. 20), to move to 2-2 on the season. The 49ers have five players averaging double figures, led by Jon Davis with 17.5 points per game while adding 6.25 assists per contest. Davis had 24 points and seven assists against the Blue Hose.
