Elon Women’s Golf Unveils 2018 Spring Schedule

ELON, N.C. – Elon University women’s golf coach Chris Dockrill has announced the tournament schedule that his squad will face in the upcoming 2018 spring season. Including the CAA Championship, the Phoenix will play in five tournaments this spring.

All of the tournaments will be held in North Carolina, South Carolina or Georgia. Of the five events, three will be three-day tournaments, while the other two will be two-day contests.

The maroon and gold will open its spring slate in Kiawah, S.C., at the Edwin Watts / Kiawah Island Spring Classic hosted by College of Charleston. Round one will be played on Sunday, Feb. 25 with rounds two and three scheduled for Feb. 26-27. The tournament will be played at the Kiawah Island Resort’s Osprey Point and Oak Point courses.

The next week, Elon will travel to Wallce, N.C., to participate in the River Landing Classic hosted by UNCW. Scheduled for March 5-6, the event will be hosted at the River Landing Golf Club.

After a couple of weeks away from competition, the Phoenix returns to the links on March 25-27 at the John Kirk Panther Intercollegiate in Stockbridge, Ga. The tournament, hosted by Georgia State, will be contested at the Eagle’s Landing Country Club.

April begins with the Phoenix playing in the Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate hosted by Appalachian State on the first two days of the month. The final tuneup before the conference championship, the tournament is held at the Mimosa Hills Golf and Country Club in Morganton, N.C.

Elon’s fourth CAA Championship event will be held April 13-15 at St. James Plantation in Southport, N.C., and will feature all eight of the CAA’s women’s golf programs.
