Game Report on Northwest Guilford-Australian Travel Team Boys Basketball

AUSTRAILIAN TRAVEL TEAM 60 NORTHWEST GUILFORD 46
GAME NOTES:
–Northwest Guilford and Australian Travel Team squared off in the Kernersville – Chrysler Dodge Shootout were the Aussies were able to secure a 60-46 win. A very entertaining 1st quarter ended with both teams trading baskets as they feeled each other out and ended in a 14-12 lead for the visitors. The 2nd quarter was much of the same until a few untimely decisions led to a halftime deficit of 5 points for the Vikings. The 2nd half saw the Aussies keep Northwest at arm’s length as they could not sustain any momentum towards a comeback.
–Dean Reiber led Northwest with 12 points. Brandon Thomas finished with 9 points, and 3 rebounds while Christian Hampton contributed 7 points, 8 rebounds, and 8 assists while for the Vikings.
–The Austrailians were led by Zac Triplett with 19 points. Caleb Connick and Archi Manton contributed 9 and 8 points respectively for the Aussies.

  1. If the comment in the thread from Friday’s games was accurate, this Australian team beat W Forsyth also. This was a pretty good team, much better than the ones I’ve seen in years past (though I did not see last year’s games).
