In Alamance County, drivers were urged to use caution, watch their speed, and maintain proper distance from other cars to prevent further accidents until the roadways are fully cleared.

Despite the clean-up efforts, schools in Alamance County were closed Thursday and remain closed Friday. All ABSS public schools were shut down, and charter schools and private institutions Burlington Christian Academy, Alamance Christian School, The Burlington School, The Hawbridge School, River Mill Academy, Blessed Sacrament School, Clover Garden School and Bradford Academy also were closed.

Guilford County schools were operating Friday on a two-hour delay.
