Game Report on Northwest Guilford-HP Central Boys Basketball:Hampton, Reiber and Perry carry Vikings to (1-0) in the Metro

NORTHWEST GUILFORD 66, HIGH POINT CENTRAL 61
GAME NOTES:
–Northwest Guilford played host to High Point Central in the opening game of the Metro 4A conference play for both teams. A very entertaining back and forth game ended in a 66-61 win for the Vikings. Northwest was able to take control of the game late in the 2nd quarter as they used an 8-2 run to finish the half, which ended with a 31-26 lead for the Vikings. The Vikings were able stretch their lead to 13 points early in the 4th quarter and were able to withstand a late charge from the Bison to hold on for the victory. Northwest accumulated 13 assists on 22 made field goals and was able to make 6 out of 8 free throws down the stretch.
–Christian Hampton led Northwest with a double-double of 16 points & 11 rebounds. Dean Reiber contributed 16 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 blocks while Tristan Perry added 14 points, 4 rebounds, and 5 assists for the Vikings.
–D. Deing had 16 points while J. Marbury finished with 12 points for High Point Central.
