Elon MBB Coach Matheny Teams Up with Subway in Fundraising to Benefit Coaches vs. Cancer

ELON, N.C. — Elon University head men’s basketball coach Matt Matheny is teaming up with locally-owned SUBWAY® restaurants in the Piedmont Triad in launching a special Coaches vs. Cancer fundraising campaign.

This year to launch the campaign, Matheny will be working together with three other head coaches from the Triad, Scott Cherry of High Point, Jay Joyner of North Carolina A&T, and Wes Miller of UNCG, as guest Sandwich Artist at the Greensboro Subway inside Wesley Long Hospital (2400 W. Friendly Avenue, Greensboro, N.C. 27403), next to the Cone Health Oncology Services and Cancer Center on Tuesday, Jan. 16, from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m.

The Coaches vs. Cancer program is a collaboration between the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches. Locally, the North Carolina Basketball Coaches Association has joined the effort to promote healthy living, raise awareness and support for the fight against cancer.

Donations in any amount can be made at the checkout of participating Subway® restaurants from Jan. 15 through Feb. 28 with 100 percent of the proceeds going to the local Coaches vs. Cancer program, which is celebrating 25 years. For more information on Coaches vs. Cancer, visit www.cancer.org.
