CHARLOTTE, NC – Winston-Salem State University freshman guard Teara Johnson(Dudley HS/Greensboro, N.C.) has continued to impress in her first season with the program as she was named the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Rookie of the Week, Tuesday. Tuesday’s honor marked the second time that Johnson has been recognized by the CIAA.
She brought home the honor after a career week with the Rams. She capped the week by scoring a career-high 19 points in a dominating 100-59 win over the Saint Augustine’s Falcons in the team’s CIAA Southern Division opener. She also added four assists against the Falcons. She had three points with a pair of assists at Elizabeth City State.
