College Men’s Basketball Final Score – Guilford 77, Roanoke 65

SALEM, Va. – Alston Thompson (Durham, N.C./Durham Academy) collected 19 points and 13 rebounds in Guilford College’s 77-65 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) win at Roanoke College Thursday night. Will Leckonby (Salisbury, N.C./Salisbury) and Marcus Curry (Greensboro, N.C./Northern Guilford (Bridgewater)) each added 16 points for the Quakers (8-8, 4-3, ODAC) in a game postponed a day by inclement weather.

Leckonby sparked the visitors to a 38-29 halftime lead by making four-of-five three-pointers on the way to 13 first-half points. Sophomore Mason Reyer (Roanoke, Va./Cave Spring) knocked down two more treys as the Quakers shot seven-of-14 from beyond the arc in the first half. Reyer made both of his shots in the half’s final 47 seconds.

Thompson (13 points) and Curry (12 points) took over in the second half, combining to make eight of 12 shots from the floor and nine-of-11 shots from the line. Guilford scored the first six points of the second half and held the Maroons without a field goal over a five-and-a-half minute stretch midway through the period. Guilford’s lead hovered around 10 points for most of the second half.

Jarrod Rogers (Archdale, N.C./Trinity) scored just three points, but dished out a career- and game-high 12 assists for the Quakers. Guilford enjoyed a 43-30 edge in rebounds.

Roanoke’s C.J. Miles led all scorers with 20 points and Joe Mikalauskas added 12 for the Maroons. Jorden Davis made three three-pointers off the bench and finished with nine points.
