LYNCHBURG, Va. — Lauren Ramsey scored 12 points and Miracle Walters added 10 as Guilford College cruised to a 63-40 win at Hollins University on Thursday evening.
The Quakers improved to 11-3 and 5-2 in Old Dominion Athletic Conference action. HU dropped to 3-12, 0-7.
Eight different Guilford players scored in the game, which GC led 32-25 at halftime. Ramsey was 4-7 shooting and Walters was 5-8 from the field. GC had its biggest lead of 26 points (57-31) with 7:59 left in regulation after a basket from Monell Dunlap.
The Quakers shot 42-percent (26-62) to Hollins’s 31-percent (15-48). HU committed 23 turnovers and forced 11 Guilford miscues. Hollins won the battle of the boards, 43-34.
Sydney Strange led HU with 12 points on four three-point baskets. Teammate Keyazia Taylor pulled down a game-best 12 rebounds in the contest.
Guilford returns to action on Saturday. The Quakers host ODAC rival Eastern Mennonite at 2 p.m.
