HIGH POINT, N.C. — The High Point University men’s basketball team (10-9, 5-3 Big South) hosts Radford (13-8, 6-2 Big South) on Wednesday night (Jan. 24) with a share of first place in the Big South standings on the line. Tip-off at the Millis Center is set for 7 p.m.

•The Panthers are riding a three-game win streak after winning on the road at Longwood, 75-55, on Sunday afternoon in Farmville, Va. Sophomore Jahaad Proctor hit five 3-pointers and recorded a game-high 22 points, while fellow sophomore Brandonn Kamga added 16 points, his third-highest tally this season.
• In the three game win streak, the Panthers have held their opponents to 54.7 points per game and 37.7 percent shooting. High Point is shooting 48.9 percent from behind the arc and 51.0 percent from the floor overall. Sophomore Jahaad Proctor is 9-18 from 3-point range and is averaging 18.3 points and 5.3 assists.
• In their last home game the Panthers pulled off a 71-60 come from behind victory over Liberty on Thursday night (Jan. 18). HPU was behind by 10 at halftime, but used an 18-3 run early in the second half to propel the comeback. It was the Panthers’ largest comeback of the season (HPU trailed by 13 in the first half). The win broke a four-game losing streak to the Flames.
• Junior Andre Fox and sophomore Jahaad Proctor each scored 23 points in the 71-60 comeback victory over Liberty, the fourth time this season both have scored 20 or more points in a game. It was Fox’s 10th game of 20-plus points.
• Freshman Justyn Mutts did not score against Liberty, but made a great impact with a season-high 10 rebounds and five assists, while also adding a pair of blocks.
• High Point will look to continue to defend its home court advantage, as the Panthers are 8-1 at the Millis Center, but 2-8 away from campus this season. HPU is averaging 87.1 points per game at home and are shooting 53.1 percent from the floor and 44.6 percent behind the arc at the Millis Center. Before Sunday’s big road win at Longwood, HPU was shooting 39.2 percent (32.1 percent from three) and is averaging 60.2 points per contest.
• At the Millis Center, HPU has a +8.2 rebounding margin per game, while on the road, they have a -0.3 rebounding margin.
HISTORY vs. RADFORD
This is the 44th meeting all-time between the two programs with Radford leading 23-20. High Point had won three in a row before the Highlanders won a tight matchup, 69-68 in overtime, on Feb. 11, 2017 in the last meeting. Down by four with eight seconds remaining in the extra period, Andre Fox found some space off a handoff from freshman Jamal Wright and drilled a 3-pointer to close to within one. The Panthers trapped the ensuing inbounds and Wright tied up the ball forcing a turnover and giving HPU a chance to win the game with four seconds remaining. High Point inbounded to redshirt-senior Miles Bowman Jr. and the forward drove into the lane before dishing out to an open Fox on the right wing. The sophomore got a good shot off that hit off the inside of the front rim before bouncing out at the buzzer.
A LOOK AT THE HIGHLANDERS (13-8, 6-2 Big South)
Radford comes into the game in first place in the Big South with a 6-2 record after falling to Campbell, 59-56, on a 3-pointer at the buzzer by Chris Clemons. Ed Polite, Jr. leads the Highlanders with 13.5 points per game and 8.0 rebounds per contest, which is third in the Big South. Carlik Jones is second on the team with 11.6 points per game.
HISTORY vs. OPPONENTS FROM VIRGINIA
High Point has complied a 80-73 (.523) record all-time against Division I programs hailing from the Old Dominion State. HPU’s most common opponents are Radford (20-23, .465), Liberty (17-23, .425) and Longwood (23-7, .767). High Point is 60-53 (.531) against Big South programs from Virginia and 20-20 (.500) against the rest of the state’s Division I teams. HPU is 3-0 against teams from Virginia this season after defeating William & Mary, Liberty and Longwood.
