Reynolds used a superior rebounding advantage and steady defensive pressure to open up a close first half & defeat East Forsyth 68-52 on the Eagles’ home court in Kernersville Wednesday night.

East, now 12-5, led by as many as nine points (20-11) 12 minutes into the game but went cold midway through the second quarter as RJR, now 13-6, erased a 26-21 Eagles’ lead by scoring 21 of the game’s next 25 points during almost eight minutes across the halftime break to lead 42-30 midway through the third quarter.

The Demons stretched their lead to as many as eighteen points several times down the stretch behind the game’s leading scorer Larry Borland, who added a game-high 11 rebounds to his 20 points. RJR point guard Ian Henderson had 15 points, seven rebounds & four steals. Mysta Goodloe added 12 for the winners.

East Forsyth was led in scoring by Shemar Watkins with 11 while Josh Mahaffey & Tanis Samuels added 10 each. The Eagles return to Central Piedmont 4A action Friday night at West Forsyth, the return home for three home games next week against Glenn (Tuesday), Davie County (Wednesday) & Reagan (Friday).
