Elon Women’s Soccer Adds Two for Spring Semester

ELON, N.C. – Elon University women’s soccer has announced the additions of Kayla Hodges (Hillsborough, N.C./Orange High School) and Olivia Offerman (Roanoke, Va./Patrick Henry High School) for the 2018 spring semester today, Jan. 31.

Hodges is an early enrollee and hails from nearby Hillsborough, N.C. She played club soccer for the Burlington Soccer Club under the direction of head coach Taylor Saxe. During her time with the club, she received Region III honors. Playing in the central midfield and defense, Hodges played at Orange High School and was an All-Conference, All-Region, and named the team’s Most Valuable Player as a member of the Mighty Panthers.

Offerman joins the Phoenix as a spring addition from Roanoke, Va. and played club soccer for Roanoke Star Soccer Club under head coach Chris McClellan. While a part of the soccer team at Patrick Henry High School, Offerman was a three-time All-Conference and All-Academic Team selection under head coach Jessica Hartman. She also competed in cross country and track & field, earning two All-Conference and three All-Academic Team honors in both sports combined. Offerman was also named the Top Female of Individual Sports as a senior in 2017.

Prep: Played soccer at Orange High School under coaches Palmer Bowman and Jacki Mignosa • Was an All-Conference and an All-Region selection for the Mighty Panthers • Named the team’s Most Valuable player • A member of the Beta Club in high school.

Club: Played club for Burlington Soccer Club under the direction of head coach Taylor Saxe • Was an ODP Region III selection with the club.

Personal: Born on July 5, 2000 • The daughter of Shannon and Brandon Hodges • Her cousin Bryse Wilson plays professional baseball for the Atlanta Braves minor league Class A affiliate, the Rome Braves • Other cousin Payton Wilson plays football at NC State • Is intending to major in Exercise Science.

Olivia Offerman | Roanoke, Va. | Patrick Henry High School | Midfielder | 5-5
Prep: Was a three-time All-Conference selection (2014-17) and named a three-time member of the All-Academic Soccer Team (2014-17) at Patrick Henry High School under head coach Jessica Hartman • Also earned All-Conference and All-Academic Team honors (2015-16) in cross country and named to the All-Academic Team (2016-17) for indoor tack & field • Named the Top Female of Individual Sports in 2017 • Academically finished in the top-5 percent of her graduating class, named a Distinguished Scholar, and a three-year member of National Honor Society.

Club: Played club soccer for Roanoke Star Soccer Club under the direction of head coach Chris McClellan.

Personal: Born on March 4, 1999 • The daughter of Paul and Elizabeth Offerman • Is intending to major in Exercise Science.
