HIGH POINT, N.C. — The High Point University men’s basketball team (10-11, 5-5 Big South) travels to Charleston Southern (8-13, 3-7 Big South) for a Thursday night affair. Tip-off at the Buc Dome is set for 7:30 p.m.

Kevin Burke will be back on the call on for the High Point Panthers Radio Network, with coverage starting at approximately 7 p.m.

PAW PRINTS
• Last time out, the Panthers were defeated on the road, 84-74, at UNC Asheville on Saturday (Jan. 27). The Bulldogs had a 17-point halftime lead at 43-26, but High Point stormed back at the start of the second half and cut the lead as close as five before UNC Asheville prevailed.
• All five starters for the Panthers against UNC Asheville scored in double figures, the first time this season that has been accomplished. Andre Fox led the team with 18, while Brandonn Kamga added 16.
• Jordan Whitehead recorded a career high with 12 points on 6-7 shooting against UNC Asheville.
• Justyn Mutts had his best Big South game to date, tallying 12 points to go along with eight rebounds.
• Junior Andre Fox hit four 3-point field goals against UNC Asheville to break 100 for his career. Fox is currently tied for 10th at 101 career 3-pointers with Joe Knight (2001-03) and is one shy of being tied for ninth with Scotty Hall (1997-99).
• Every Panther that played grabbed at least one rebound in the 78-76 overtime loss to Radford on Jan. 24, the third time this season that has happened. The other two occurrences were against Toccoa Falls (Dec. 10) and Johnson & Wales (Dec. 1).
• The Panthers lead the Big South and are 22nd in the nation in steals per game at 8.2. High Point also leads the conference and is 38th in turnover margin at +3.0.
• The Panthers are shooing 38.8 percent from behind the arc this season, which ranks second in the conference and 40th overall. While HPU shoots behind the arc at a good clip, the Panthers have only taken 299 3-point attempts, which is the third-fewest in the nation.
• High Point’s defense is one of the most stout in the nation, ranking second in the Big South and 43rd nationally, allowing only 66.1 points per game.

HISTORY vs. CHARLESTON SOUTHERN
High Point holds a 21-17 advantage in 38 all-time meetings between HPU and Charleston Southern. The Panthers defeated the Bucs, 80-59, in the first meeting this season on Jan. 6 at the Millis Center. Jahaad Proctor scored a career-high 29 points and was 5-6 from behind the arc. Andre Fox added 20 points, while Brandonn Kamga had 12. The Panthers led 34-24 at the halftime and used a 19-6 run to open the second half to break open the game.

A LOOK AT THE BULLDOGS (8-13, 3-7 BIG SOUTH)
Charleston Southern picked up an overtime win over Big South first-place Radford, 84-81, Saturday (Jan. 27) in Radford, Va. Christian Keeling leads the Bucs with 17.4 points per game and 5.1 rebounds per contest, while Travis McConico and Phlandrous Fleming are also averaging in double figures with 10.8 and 10.7 points per game, respectively. Keeling ranks fourth in the conference in scoring, while Jordan Jones is fourth in blocks with 1.2 per game.

HISTORY vs. OPPONENTS FROM SOUTH CAROLINA
High Point has complied a 81-95 (.460) record all-time against Div. I programs hailing from the Palmetto State. HPU’s most common opponents are Winthrop (14-28), Coastal Carolina (16-21) and Charleston Southern (21-17). High Point is 52-53 against Big South programs from South Carolina and 29-42 against the rest of the state’s Div. I teams. The Panthers are 1-4 against teams from South Carolina so far this season, defeating Charleston Southern and Presbyterian, but falling to The Citadel, College of Charleston, Wofford and Winthrop.
