The Eagles, now 16-5 overall, slipped behind 16-15 two minutes into the second quarter but regained the lead quickly & steadily pulled away, hitting 14 of 20 field goals inside the arc (on 10 assists) while riddling the Raiders on defense.

Reagan rallied at the start of the third quarter to move within four points (36-32) two minutes into the second half but East’s relentless defense limited the Raiders to only one field goal over the next seven minutes to pull away for its seventh win in Central Piedmont 4A Conference play in eight games.

Combined with West Forsyth’s 68-65 upset of Reynolds in Clemmons, East Forsyth took sole possession of the tight CPC race going into the final week of the regular season next week, closing out with games at Davie County Tuesday night & at Reynolds Friday night.

East’s Connor Sparrow scored a game-high 14 points (7-10 FGs) & grabbed six rebounds as the Eagles earned a wide margin (+10) on the boards.
