Harwood, Elon Men’s Golf in First After Round One of UNCG Martin Downs Collegiate

PALM CITY, Fla. – William Harwood has a one-stroke lead on the player leaderboard after posting a career-low tying six under-par 66 and Elon University men’s golf finds itself in a tie for first following the first round of the UNCG Martin Downs Collegiate on Sunday, Feb. 11, at Martin Downs Golf Club.

Round One Results

Elon as a team (287) is currently tied with Seton Hall after the first round. Four Phoenix find themselves in the top-25 of the individual leaderboard through 18 holes. Harwood tied a season and career-low round of 66, which included a nearly unblemished round of seven birdies and just one bogey. He finished the round strong making four birdies over his final seven holes.

HIGHLIGHTS
In addition to Harwood, Charlie May also finds himself in the top-25 individually after posting a one over-par 73 and is tied for 18th after the first round. Patrick Frodigh and Philip Loeb are each tied for 23rd on the individual leaderboard after finishing the first day just one stroke behind May. Frodigh drained four birdies on the afternoon, the second-highest total on the team.

Quade Lukes, who is competing as an individual for the Phoenix, is inside the top-30 as he is tied for 29th through 18 holes. Rounding out Elon’s competitors, Dustin Blank finds himself on the outside of the top-30 looking in and is tied for 34th as an individual. Blank made three birdies during the first round. Jake Leavitt is tied for 50th individually after day one.

UP NEXT
The Phoenix returns to action for round two of the UNCG Martin Downs Collegiate on Monday, Feb. 12. Elon will tee off starting at 8:20 a.m. with the maroon and gold’s last tee time coming at 9 a.m.
