GREENSBORO, N.C.–Guilford College’s Marcus Curry (Greensboro, N.C./Northern Guilford (Bridgewater)) and Carson Long (Pilot Mountain, N.C./East Surry) earned All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) men’s basketball honors Friday. Curry was selected to the first team and Long earned second-team recognition. All-ODAC selections are made by the league’s head men’s basketball coaches.

Marcus Curry - Guilford 2019

Curry, a 6-5, 205-pound forward, leads the Quakers’ offense and ranks among ODAC leaders in multiple categories. He stands fourth in scoring (16.0 ppg.), 13th in rebounds (6.1 rpg.), and sixth in field-goal percentage (53.8%). Curry also tops the Quakers in free-throw percentage (79.8%) and averages 2.8 assists per game. He earned a place on the Don Lane Classic All-Tournament Team last December. His career-high 31 points in the season opener led to a 98-88 Quakers’ victory over rival Greensboro College. Curry paced Guilford in ODAC play with 16.0 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game. He led Guilford’s scorers nine times and has scored in double figures 21 times with six 20-point contests.

Carson Long - Guilford 2019

Long, a 6-4, 205-pound forward, had another strong season for the Quakers following his 2016-17 First Team All-ODAC campaign. He is second on the team and 17th in the ODAC in points per game (14.0). Long leads Guilford and ranks ninth in the ODAC with 7.3 rebounds per contest. His team-leading nine double-doubles and 1.2 blocks per game stand fifth among league players. Long was named ODAC Player of the Week in the opening week of the season and received all-tournament honors at the Daly Seven Tip-Off Classic. He recorded a career-high 36 points against Huntingdon College at the Daly Seven Tip-Off, and tallied a personal-best 17 rebounds against league-rival Lynchburg College in February.

The two juniors have led coach Tom Palombo’s Quakers to a 14-11 regular-season record and a berth in tonight’s ODAC Tournament quarterfinals. The defending tournament champions are seeded sixth and meet third-seeded Washington and Lee University tonight at 8:00pm at the Salem Civic Center in Salem, Virginia.
