*****We take a good look today at Jeremy Harris(Page HS) and at Ikenna Smart(New Garden Friends School)*****

Jeremy Harris(Page High School) with 23 points/7 rebounds and just some great shots and moves last night for the Buffalo Bulls, in their 89-68 dismantling of the Arizona Wildcats, in Round One of the NCAA’s at Boise, Idaho…Harris was 10-20 from the field and 3-9 from three-point range…Harris averaging 15.5 ppg for his Bulls and listed as a 6’7 guard…..

Jeremy Harris, 6’7/176 from Greensboro, North Carolina and again, the former Page Pirate product…..

Prior To the University of Buffalo: Spent two seasons Gulf Coast State College where he was the second best JUCO player nationally by JUCORecuiting.com…averaged 18.7 points and 5.2 rebounds per game last season…scored 42 points and hit 10 three-points against Chipola College…ended the season and his junior college career with 36 points against Pensacola State College…earned first-team All-Panhandle Conference honors.

High School: Attended Page High School and Fishburne Military School before moving on to Gulf coast State College…averaged 15.5 points and 8.0 rebounds per game at Page High School and was rated as the 17th best player in the state of North Carolina.

Personal: Born September 10, 1996…full name is Jeremy Tyler Harris II…chose UB because he felt it was the place to achieve his goals both athletically and academically….

Ikenna Smart, 6’10/241 from Nigeria and lived in Greensboro and attended the New Garden Friends School…..Got the start last night for the Buffalo Bulls and posted 4 points/4 rebounds, in 13 minutes…..While living in Greensboro, Ikenna Smart/Kenny Smart’s host family, was the Rocky Manning family……

2016-17: Played in 31 games, starting 16…scored 10 points and had seven rebounds against Nevada (11/25)…finished with eight points and four rebounds at Ball State (2/3)…scored eight points and had a season-high nine rebounds against Weber State (11/26)…tied that season high with nine rebounds against Western Michigan (1/21).

2015-16: Played in all 35 games during the season, starting 31 of those contests…finished with 11 points and seven rebounds against Kent State (2/23)…recorded a career-high 10 rebounds at Miami (1/19)…has scored nine points twice this season including Akron (1/5) and Central Michigan (1/16)…had six points and seven rebounds vs. Miami (OH) (3/10)…pulled down eight rebounds in the MAC Championship, includng six offensive boards vs. Akron (3/12).

2014-15: Redshirted his freshman season.

High School: Played for head coach Dave Secor at New Garden Friends School in Greensboro, NC..led his team to a 17-11 record as a senior as he averaged 13 points, 13 rebounds and two blocks per game…set his high school record for single-season rebounding with 300 and he also set the record for blocked shots.

Personal: Born September 23, 1995… Son of Smart and Comfort Amaobi…has three brothers (Osinachi, Godsent, Lucky) and one sister (Blessing)…host family is Nick and Cinda Purrington and brothers (Alfred, Charles, Joel)…originally a native of Nigeria…lists his favorite athlete at Hakeem Olajuwon…favorite music is reggae and enjoys playing the piano…chose UB because he felt it was a good program that he could fit into…says his greatest athletic experience has been winning back-to-back MAC Championships…also enjoys listening to music and playing soccer.

  2. Jeremy was a great player for the Northeast Middle School Basketball program for 2 years. Great kid. Great Family! Great job momma Harris. We are super proud in McRamsville.
